For this course you should have familiarity with Google Analytics. Attendees will understand the concept of campaign tagging and be able to identify different traffic types. This course is focusing on data analytics. You will learn to get the right data and how to utilize it. We will teach you to slice down the data large amounts of data from Google Analytics to get just the details you want. Get deeper with Analysis Blueprint, learn how to draw conclusions and actionable insights. Evaluating right channel value. What you will learn

Quick run through; refreshing the mind

We get it. It might have been a long time ago since you really crunched on the theoretical basics of Google Analytics. For those who come straight from the crash course and for the experts that are already working with analytics for a while, a quick run through will do more good then harm. We will repeat some fundamentals like structure and hierarchy, user management and best practices. Don't worry, this part is just 15 minutes.

Install and configure

When we are all aligned we go straight into installing and configuring and you will learn how to work with the WordPress CMS plugin. We will go in-depth on using filters and how to customize them. We top it off with taking a look at the advanced filters.

Debug and troubleshoot

In the third module, we will go into debugging and troubleshooting. You will also learn how to inspect a TMS-based install, to work with the Advanced Tag Assistant and we will answer the question during an open discussion; Why are there more users than sessions?

Advanced segments

Advanced segments allow you to isolate specific types of traffic within your Google Analytics reporting. You will learn all there is to know about advanced segments and how to use them. After the theory part you will practice with creating a few. You will explore how to clean data and identify big spenders in custom segments. To make it complete you will learn when to use filters versus segments.

Segmentation pitfalls

To make sure you don't make any common mistakes after this course, we will arm you with guidelines how to avoid segmentation pitfalls. Subjects are users versus sessions, mixing user and session elements and sequences.

Advanced reporting and insights

Advanced reporting focuses more on how to get the right insights and how to present them. You will learn how to enable demographics and interest reports. You will understand all there is to know about visitor demographics and interests. You will perform your own cohort analysis via advanced segments and immediately put your knowledge into practice. Together with your peers you will create a custom report and calculate metrics.

Custom data

We end this course by taking a look at custom data, custom dimensions and how to personalize your data. You will import custom data using query string parameters and work with it. We top it off with an open discussion about how you can best apply these techniques in your business.
